Payton Lochotzki Obituary

Payton Timothy Lochotzki, who was 15 years old and resided in Elkhart, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023. He was born on October 23, 2007, in Elkhart, IN, to his parents Miles T. and Jennifer L. Lochotzki.

During his time with us, Payton was a wonderful son, an amazing big brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. He possessed extraordinary talent as a baseball player and musician. Payton actively participated in both the Freshmen and Junior Varsity Baseball teams, and he earned the lead trumpet spot in The Elkhart High School Lions Advanced Jazz Band.

Spending time with his friends, goofing off or simply hanging out, brought him immense joy. He also cherished moments with his siblings and cousins, engaging in activities such as going bowling, fishing, and enjoying popcorn mixed with M&M’s during family movie nights.

His parents express their unwavering love for Payton: “Payton, we loved you fiercely forever and always. You will forever be carried in our hearts as the good, handsome, caring boy that we all knew. You will never be forgotten. You were so very loved, and we cannot even fathom how we are going to carry on without our baby. We love you, baby boy.” With love, Mom and Dad.

Payton is survived by his parents, Miles and Jennifer Lochotzki, as well as his siblings Gavin, Ethan, and Mae-Ella Lochotzki, all residing in Elkhart, IN. His memory is also cherished by his grandparents, Rhonda & Bill Severeid, JR., of Cassopolis, MI, Scott & Connie Miracle of Vicksburg, MI, Roseanne Breitzke of Elkhart, IN, and Mike Lochotzki of Elkhart, IN. Additionally, he is survived by his great-grandparents, Al & Karon Miracle of Centerville, MI, and Luana Harder of Wauseon, Ohio.

Payton’s aunts and uncles, Carolyn & James Lindeman, Ashley & Nate Grant, Kristina & Cody Vance, Morgan Severeid & her fiancĂ© Jovan Amaya, and Bailey Miracle, also hold his memory dear. He is remembered by his cousins Austin Taylor, Laira (Logan) Wolfgang, Trystan Grant, Anthony Grant, Carson Vance, and many other friends and family members who loved him.

Visitation to honor Payton’s memory was held on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 3-7 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, located at 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46154.
